  34 *UPDATE (September 2020):* We are currently experimenting with lifting
  35 the freenode account registration requirement for =#org-mode=.  As of
  36 now, registering an account is /not/ required for joining the channel.

  47 IRC is a highly asynchronous form of chat. If the channel is not busy,
  48 don't be discouraged. Users come and go and watch the history.

  51 a question. Please ask directly what you would like to discuss, and
  52 wait for a reply. You may wait quite some time so don't ask and quit
  53 five minutes later.
