2 You can setup filters in
<span class=
"application">KAddressBook
</span> which depend on the categories a
3 contact belongs to. For example, you can create a filter that matches all
4 contacts which belong to the categories
<span xmlns:
doc=
"http://nwalsh.com/xsl/documentation/1.0" class=
"guiitem"><span class=
"guilabel">Family
</span></span> and
<span xmlns:
doc=
"http://nwalsh.com/xsl/documentation/1.0" class=
"guiitem"><span class=
"guilabel">Friends
</span></span>;
5 you can also create a filter that matches all contacts which do not
6 these categories. To manage filters, use the filter configuration dialog:
7 </p><div class=
"screenshot"><div xmlns:
doc=
"http://nwalsh.com/xsl/documentation/1.0" class=
"mediaobject"><hr><img src=
"filtereditdlg.png" alt=
"The Filter Configuration Dialog."><div class=
"caption"><p>The Filter Configuration Dialog.
</p></div><hr></div></div><p>
8 Filters can be used in views to reduce the number of contacts shown.
9 In the
<a href=
"using-filters.html" title=
"Using Filters">view configuration dialog
</a> you can
10 specify what filter should be used by a view by default.
