  12 The cpt file extension stands for portable checkpoint file.
  13 The complete state of the simulation is stored in the checkpoint file,
  14 including extended thermostat/barostat variables, random number states
  15 and NMR time averaged data.
  16 With domain decomposition also the some decomposition setup information
  17 is stored.
