  45 Since no one has volunteered to test and fix the above configurations,
  46 these are not supported at the moment.  It's expected that these don't
  47 work anymore.  Porting the library is not hard.  If you are interested
  48 in doing a port, please contact the glibc maintainers by sending
  49 electronic mail to <bug-glibc@gnu.org>.

  51 The GNU C library now includes Michael Glad's Ultra Fast Crypt, which
  52 provides the Unix `crypt' function, plus some other entry points.
  53 Because of the United States export restriction on DES implementations,
  54 we are distributing this code separately from the rest of the C
  55 library.  There is an extra distribution tar file just for crypt; it is
  56 called `glibc-crypt-2.0.110.tar.gz'.  You can just unpack the crypt
  57 distribution along with the rest of the C library and build; you can
  58 also build the library without getting crypt.  Users outside the USA
  59 can get the crypt distribution via anonymous FTP from ftp.ifi.uio.no
  60 [129.240.64.21], or another archive site outside the USA.  Archive
  61 maintainers are encouraged to copy this distribution to their archives
  62 outside the USA.  Please get it from ftp.ifi.uio.no; transferring this
  63 distribution from ftp.gnu.org (or any other site in the USA) to a
  64 site outside the USA is in violation of US export laws.

  66 Beside the separate crypt tar file there are some more add-ons which can be
  67 used together with GNU libc.  They are designed in a way to ease the
  68 installation by integrating them in the libc source tree.  Simply get the
  69 add-ons you need and use the --enable-add-ons option of the `configure'
  70 script to tell where the add-ons are found.  Please read the FAQ file for
  71 more details.

  77 The GNU C Library is completely documented by the Texinfo manual found
  78 in the `manual/' subdirectory.  The manual is still being updated and
  79 contains some known errors and omissions; we regret that we do not
  80 have the resources to work on the manual as much as we would like.

  84 The file NOTES contains a description of the feature-test macros used
  85 in the GNU C library, explaining how you can tell the library what
  86 facilities you want it to make available.

  89 is installed together with the rest of the GNU libc to <bugs@gnu.org>.
