   2         Specify an external helper to be called when a username or
   3         password credential is needed; the helper may consult external
   4         storage to avoid prompting the user for the credentials. Note
   5         that multiple helpers may be defined. See linkgit:gitcredentials[7]

   9         When acquiring credentials, consider the "path" component of an http
  10         or https URL to be important. Defaults to false. See
  11         linkgit:gitcredentials[7] for more information.

  14         If no username is set for a network authentication, use this username
  15         by default. See credential.<context>.* below, and
  16         linkgit:gitcredentials[7].

  19         Any of the credential.* options above can be applied selectively to
  20         some credentials. For example "credential.https://example.com.username"
  21         would set the default username only for https connections to
  22         example.com. See linkgit:gitcredentials[7] for details on how URLs are
  23         matched.
