   4 Hopefully, this list will one day be obsoleted by DEVFS, but for now
   5 this is the current allocation of device major numbers.

   7 For local use, you are encouraged to use the reserved numbers.

  10 hackers@freebsd.org mailing list to see about having a number
  11 reserved for you.
