  45 is the server that notifies a user that someone else wants to
  46 initiate a conversation.
  47 It acts as a repository of invitations, responding to requests
  48 by clients wishing to rendezvous to hold a conversation.
  49 In normal operation, a client, the caller,
  50 initiates a rendezvous by sending a
  51 .Tn CTL_MSG
  52 to the server of
  53 type
  54 .Tn LOOK_UP
  55 (see
  56 .In protocols/talkd.h ) .
  57 This causes the server to search its invitation
  58 tables to check if an invitation currently exists for the caller
  59 (to speak to the callee specified in the message).

  62 the caller then sends an
  63 .Tn ANNOUNCE
  64 message causing the server to
  65 broadcast an announcement on the callee's login ports requesting contact.

  69 address and the caller and callee client programs establish a
  70 stream connection through which the conversation takes place.
