16     <body>The beagle board will be used along with two calibrated USB webcams to perform low fps real time vision. The use of a pair of calibrated cameras will act as a stereo system capable of estimating depth of any point in the captured scene. A basic object/activity recognition system will be implemented in order to roughly understand the scene. This makes Beagle-Eye aware of the current state of the environment, and this information can in turn be used to help guide visually challenged users through the environment. Visual information can be interpreted and converted to either audio signals or actuators attached to the user&apos;s clothing, in order to communicate with the user. Potential applications include navigation, user localization, and object recognition and localization with respect to the immediate environment.</body>
