4 <center><h3>PRESCRIPTIONS</h3></center>
5 <h4>Writing prescriptions</h4>
6 From the patient's encounter screen, choose an encounter by clicking on it. <br>
7 On the left rail, click on add prescription. <br>
8 Fill in the date the patient should start taking the medication, provider, drug name, quantity, units, directions and refills. <br>
9 Once the prescription is finished, click on prescribe. <br>
10 Then print, e-mail, fax or auto send the prescription to the selected pharmacy.<P>

17 <h4>Printing and sending prescriptions</h4>
18 After adding the prescription information, click on prescribe. Then either click print, e-mail or fax. <br>
19 To e-mail or fax, type in the number or address and click on the method that should be used to send the prescription. <br>
20 To automatically send the prescription via the pharmacy's preferred method, click auto send. <P>
21 <h4>Looking up medications</h4>
22 Click on drug lookup. The program will pop up a dialog box. <br>
23 Type the name of the medication in the box and click search. The box will bring up a list of possible matches. <br>
24 Choose the medication from the list and click select. The box will close automatically and the drug name will appear on the prescription.<P>

28 <h4>Adding pharmacies</h4>
29 From the patient's summary screen, click on demographics. <br>
30 Then click on add new insurer under any of the insurance categories. <br>
31 Click on add a pharmacy. <br>
32 Fill out the pharmacy name, address, e-mail and phone and fax numbers.<br>
33 Choose the default method that should be used to send prescriptions to this pharmacy. <br>
34 Click update. <br>
35 To auto send, click on the correct pharmacy from the drop down menu. <br>
36 An administrator can also add pharmacies by clicking on administration and then practice settings. <br>
37 Click on add a pharmacy and complete the input boxes. <br>
38 Click update, then click on pharmacies to check.<P>

42 <h4>Changing pharmacy information</h4>
43 From a patient's summary page, click on demographics. <br>
44 Click on add new insurer from any of the insurance categories. <br>
45 Click on pharmacies. Click on the name of the pharmacy and click update.<br>
46 This can also be done through administration.<P>
