26
There are two problems with this song concerning how to translate it
27 to a tab for a single guitar. One is the use of a capo or not, the
28 other is what to do with the sustained Bb (the key note) throughout
29 the verse. It can be played uncapoed, with barre chords, but then the
30 sustained tone will have to go, along with other sublteties that are
31 more easily produced if you play with a capo somewhere. I include two
32 such versions at the end.

34
The
“F(
6)
” (and correspondingly in the other versions) is not
35 absolutely necessary - it comes out of the mixture of tones.

37
The chords in the beginning of the verse should be embellished: Bb -
38 Eb/bb - Bb (capoed: A - D/a - A and G - C/g - G) and Eb - Ebsus4 - Eb
39 (D - Dsus4 -D; C - Csus4 - C).

45 Love that's pure hopes all things,
47 Believes all things, won't pull no strings,
49 Won't sneak up into your room, tall, dark and handsome,
51 Capture your soul and hold it for ransom.
53 You don't want a love that's pure
55 You wanna drowned love
57 You want a watered-down love
59 Love that's pure, it don't make no claims,
60 Intercedes for you 'stead of casting you blame,
61 Will not deceive you or lead you to transgression,
62 Won't write it up and make you sign a false confession.
63 You don't want a love that's pure
65 You want a watered-down love
67 Love that's pure won't lead you astray,
68 Won't hold you back, won't mess up your day,
69 Won't pervert you, corrupt you with stupid wishes,
70 It don't make you envious, it don't make you suspicious.
71 You don't want a love that's pure
73 You want a watered-down love
75 Love that's pure ain't no accident,
76 Always on time, is always content,
77 An eternal flame, quietly burning,
78 Never needs to be proud, restlessly yearning.
79 You don't want a love that's pure
81 You want a watered-down love
