   4 You are proficient in some language the poster is not yet translated in? Please
   5 help us! It shouldn't take you more than half an hour:

   7 1) Copy the original `poster_en.tex' under a new name; for instance, if you
   8 intend making a translation in Finnish, save it under the name `poster_fi.tex'.

  10         * WARNING * : If you use the web repository interface (gitweb[1]),
  11                       make sure you do save the plain text version: see the
  12                       "plain" link above the latest `poster_en.tex' blob.
  13                       You do not want to end up editing the highly decorated,
  14                       numbered HTML rendering of the file.

  16 2) Edit this new file, just replacing the English sentences you encounter with
  17 their translations in the targeted language: no need to translate the comments
  18 (everything after a '%' character) if you do not want to. As much as possible,
  19 leave the rest of the formatting untouched.

  21         * NOTE * : If you need extended characters (non ASCII), please stick
  22                    to ISO-8859-1 encoding (latin1) if it is possible. If not,
  23                    please use some unicode (preferably UTF-8).

  30 You might want to visualize the resulting PDF: no problem! You need to have
  31 reasonably recent (less than 3 years) versions of ghostscript, TeTeX and GNU
  32 make installed. Then, just make sure you get in sync with upstream
  33 repository[1], and type `make' from the command line.

  35         * NOTE * : If you used extended characters, do not forget to specify
  36                    the encoding to LaTeX adding a `\usepackage[enc]{inputenc}'
  37                    line in the header, where `enc' is the encoding (latin1,
  38                    utf8, etc.). For unicode support, you will need TeTex >= 3.0
