I figured out the way to bind a signal to a lua function with lqt. Empowered by such epic knowledge, I've made the start button start the game, which currently just transition to the empty game scene. To the novice it may look like that the goddamn button just disappear when clicked, but you have to envision that act of disappearance within the proper mindset to realize the true beauty behind it.
