Audio endianness and mutex usage fixes (malc.git).

Implicitly lock the mutex at startup of playback/capture threads, otherwise
pthread_mutex_destroy (in audio_pt_fini) fails with EBUSY.
Endianness fix.
Remove a c&p residue.
