   8 WATO has now a new function <i>Rename Host</i>. You will find a button with that name
   9 in the Properties of a host. It allows a renaming of an existing host. Before you
  10 can use that feature you need to have all changes activated, so nothing is pending.

  12 Renaming a host is a complex precedure that will not only rename the host in WATO,
  13 but also in:

  17 <li>cluster's node definitions</li>
  18 <li>a host's parent definitions</li>
  19 <li>Business Intelligence rules</li>
  20 <li>notification rules (both rule based and flexible notifications)</li>
  21 <li>internal Check_MK data like caches and performance counters</li>
  22 <li>auto-disovered services of the host</li>
  23 <li>logfile information of logwatch plugin</li>
  24 <li>stored SNMP walks</li>
  25 <li>RR databases with performance data</li>
  26 <li>RRD updates in journal of RRD Cache</li>
  27 <li>spool files of PNP4Nagios</li>
  28 <li>NagVis maps</li>
  29 <li>monitoring history entries (events and availability)</li>

  33 Please note that renaming of a host involves a temporary stop of the monitoring
  34 core. This is neccessary in order to avoid situation where the old and the new
  35 name of a host is being used at the same time.
