Revert "Bug #1375: fix hang in startup when using os-isomalloc in SMP mode"
This reverts commit 6e082673c7034109a5c3abc976f9b186da2ecab5.
While this appeared to fix a hang in startup when using os-isomalloc on
multicore and SMP builds, it caused hangs when not using os-isomalloc.
