[build] Improved build system
The CFLAGS and LIBS are now defined in configure.ac. Proper library
interdependencies (..._REQUIRES) are used to generate the pkg-config
files. At the end of the configuration, a report is shown.
Resurrected the building without the GTK+2 support.
