Part revert the crossbuild changes. only disable passing of "-nix" via the base CFLAGS/CXXFLAGS/LDFLAGS if crossbuild is set - gcc 6.3.0 hosted "native" binaries now run, however it may be necessary to review if "-nix" should indeed be passed, and adjust the patch for gcc as appropriate.
