configd is a configuration daemon. It doesn't configure anything (yet!), but it does the simple job of providing configuration values to anyone who cares to ask for them.

configd will implement various interfaces including :

• HTTP HEAD/GET - the client connects to configd using HTTP and specifies the domain and key as fields in the header . configd then replies with the corresponding value as the "value" header of the response.

configd can be used as a trivial read-only key-value "database". HTTP is well supported and understood. configd responses can be cached and load balanced.

PUT requests and/or some form of authentication might be supported some day.
